One of the primary goals of this Association is to help keep the Alumni stay connected not only with each other but with the Academy as well. The best way to stay connected is by becoming a class officer (usually President and Vice President) of your graduating class. As per our bylaws, which can be found here, the two major positions are outlined as below:
The President shall be responsible for all Alumni-related activities with their respective class. It is the responsibility of this position to maintain contact with members of their class on a regular basis and to update the Executive Committee on any important matter as they see fit. A simple majority shall be used to decide all issues with this position holding the tie-breaker. Any decision that befalls the Class Officers which cannot be determined by a simple majority shall be reported to the Executive Committee. It is the responsibility of this position to provide the nature of the issue as well as provide any necessary information that shall assist the Executive Committee in making their decision.
The Vice President shall assume the role of the President in any official matter that the President is unable to attend. It is the responsibility of this position to organize Class meeting and to notify the rest of the class members of its date, time and location. The Vice President shall also consider any requests made from the General Body members of their class and bring them to a general discussion if necessary. This position is also responsible for notifying their class of any upcoming election nomination, voting date deadlines, and events.
In the near future, we hope to release individual profiles for alumni to set up where they can indicate if they are looking for networking opportunities or are in a place where they can provide assistance to any alum who may looking for it.
If you have any comments or suggestions on how we can better help to keep the Alumni stay connected, please feel free to let us know.
